Sheet Music: Score
Monsoon : grand piano, pingpong balls and two performers / Karlin Greenstreet Love.
by Karlin Greenstreet Love (1990)
Monsoon depicts a rainstorm: waiting in anticipation, the deluge, and the frenzy of life that follows. It features alternative piano techniques such as bouncing ping pong balls on the strings and playing them with a guitar plectrum and with soft mallets. It provides both a timbral and visual feast as the players interact and move around the piano.
Published by: Australian Music Centre — 1 facsimile score (8p. -- A4 (landscape))
Difficulty: Medium — Requires rhythmic independence with odd meters, and ability to respond improvisationally. Unconventional piano techniques. The 2nd player uses plectrum and mallets inside the piano and does not need to be a proficient pianist.
