Sheet Music: ScorePebbles / Rodney Waterman.by Rodney Waterman (1984)
|
Product details
Pebbles is a harmonically static, undulating, continuous 'stream' of sound. It is mesmerising, imitating the tranquil ambience of lapping and running stream water and the percussive and melodic sound of pebbles of various sizes falling in water. Rodney composed Pebbles in Pitigliano, Italy in 1984 in response to an inspiring contemporary performance he'd heard in February that year in Amsterdam by Dutch recorder student Eva Boon. He dedicated the piece to Eva. Pebbles - originally titled 'Beach-washed stone' - was first performed by Eva and two other students (Sébastien Marq and another) at the Sweelinck Conservatorium 'voorspeelavond of the Blok' on May 18, 1984.
