Product details

Celebrating the 100th anniversary of the Sydney Conservatorium in 2015, Pendulum explores the notion of passing time by depicting the swinging arc of a clock pendulum, symbolising the passing minutes and hours. The piece programmatically depicts a slow and steady pendulum swing by using a regular rhythmic pulse and arc-shaped melodies in the upper woodwind voices. Contrasting passages of almost imperceptible rhythmic content depict timelessness and tranquility, reflective of the passing years.
