Product details

A short prelude. Very bright and engaging as well as challenging. Could be performed as an opening fanfare or a prelude to a concert.

This piece is about 'change'. Change is an elemental power, which can evoke feelings of great expectations or dread. Things never stay the same: winter turns to spring and new life burst through. We often change our minds about a piece of music. When listening to a new piece we often find it to be nothing but an irritating noise; an unrelated scattering of meaningless sounds. Sometimes, on hearing the same piece again, we become aware of the associated connections between each sound. We change our minds about it. It makes sense. The silences between each note magnify their beauty, just as the dark sky at night makes the stars shine more brightly.
