Product details
Preludes is a chromatic cycle from A to Ab, inspired by the relationship between harmony and colour through synaesthesia. Each prelude explores a distinct harmonic and emotional world, ordered either by its opening note or key, and coloured using a unique sonic palette. Grounded in the tradition of composers such as Bach and Chopin, the preludes are structured around single ideas, yet explore contemporary harmonic languages. Influences range from rap and blues to ballads, fugues and choral writing, creating a diverse and vivid soundscape. Conceived as a complete cycle, the set moves through a continuous journey, though individual preludes can also stand effectively on their own. Preludes showcases music's capacity where pitch becomes colour and harmony transforms into different shades.
