'The native informant': in 1966 a youthful Paul Carter made a series of recordings in Berkshire, England, from a dawn chorus of birds to his own attempts at speaking French and ancient Greek. Rediscovering the tapes many years later, he was like the anthropologist who quizzes 'the native informant' about the country. With the voices of Helen Noonan, David Wicks and Andrew Ford.
