Originally written in response to a commission from the Sydney Children's Choir, this song in its initial SSA setting was premiered in Australia at the Horizons Festival, October 29, 1995. However, it was first performed... by the choir of the Fifth African Baptist Church ... directed by the composer at the Fifth African Baptist Church, New Orleans, USA, Sept 27, 1995.
