Sheet Music: ScoreSeahorses : for percussion quartet / Eve Duncan.by Eve Christina Duncan (2009)

Product details
Seahorses explores the activity of the indigenous seahorses that live in Port Phillip Bay, that are at threat from dredging. These gentle, almost otherworldly sea creatures are territorial, and they cluster around their familiar localities such as inlets and piers, moving in and out of the native seagrasses.
Dredge is a collection
of three works for percussion quartet that were composed as part
of a collaborative work with photographer Siri Hayes. It consists
of music, photography, photograms, a lightbox, video with both
live and pre-recorded music. Issues arising from dredging in Port
Phillip and Westernport Bays, Victoria, Australia, were used as
metaphors for the layering of texture, substance and narrative
with an aquatic focus. Ecologically sensitive areas of dredging,
such as the risk to aquatic life , were explored concurrently
with issues of rising sea levels.
