Sheet Music: Score & Part(s)Spheres / Melissa Douglas.by Melissa Douglas (2018)
|
Product details
Inspired by a misty Manchester winter, Spheres evokes a similarly veiled atmosphere through the haunting melodic fragments of the alto saxophone and contrasting harp ideas that swirl and evaporate. The ideas of the harp are for the most part distinct from the saxophone, rather than connected, which contributes to its disembodied nature. The title arises from the work's use of repetition, inversions and symmetrical patterns.
