Storm Song was inspired by Australian author Megan Jacobson's novel The Build-Up Season. This work for cello and piano explores feelings of release and renewal through the imagery of a brewing summer storm, and my own experience of Queensland summers - afternoons where the air is thick with heat, bright with sunlight, and heavy with the smell of oncoming rain.
