Stringybark Suite is inspired by the native Australian Eucalyptus species. As some of the oldest and most resilient trees on the continent, they are renowned for their adaptation to changing seasons and conditions. The piece aims to capture these changing circumstances in musical form, from the playful humming of bees that are attracted to them in large numbers, to the devastating effects of bushfires and subsequent regrowth and flowering.
