To this end, the sequence of the "Rising Discontent" and "Peasants Uprising" movements from Symphonic Suite No. 1 epitomizes McEncroe's ability to clearly communicate abstract concepts (i.e. economic anxiety boiling over into populist revolt) with wordless musical storytelling.
