Product details

As an early maritime nation, the Dutch have a strong link to the sea (and water in general).

This work harks back to the time of those great sailing ships that journeyed the world's oceans to bring back exotic spices to Europe. The first movement is titled - Tall Ships & uses a sea shanty of my own invention along with a Dutch medieval tune called Ik ging op enen morgen.

The 2nd movement is titled Sea-Fever, based on the John Masefield poem - this movement includes an SATB Choir.

The work is designed to either be performed as a whole with choir & percussion or just the 1st movement without choir. If performed with choir there are obbligato vocal parts for the 1st movement.
