Product details

This work explores the idea of legacy, and although the term may bring forth different emotions for different people, at its core lies the notion of honoring the work of our predecessors, a gift which we graciously accept and then build upon while looking to the future. This work is a celebration of this process through a combination of joyous, dance-like musical ideas as well as more reflective, thoughtful moments. The Gift ends in much the same way it begins highlighting the sense of a legacy never dying but continuing on indefinitely.

This work was originally written scored for large mixed ensemble. An orchestral version was performed on MLC School's 2018 European tour and contains amendments and corrections.
