Product details

The Hours of the Day is a setting of Latin prayers for the passing hours. It is scored for 4 female singers, 2 oboes and 2 clarinets. The voices and instruments are combined in various ways: sometimes the four voices together contrasting with the 4 woodwind instruments; and sometimes one voice partnered with each instrument.

The piece was written in 1969, and won an international prize given by the Academy of the Arts, Berlin.
