Who cannot be charmed by a world of birds, gardens and cheeky foxes, asks Australian composer, Sally Greenaway?
"Stephanie and Ross Burton commissioned me to write a piece to celebrate their ruby wedding anniversary and gave me a customised book of their shared favourite things," Sally said. "There were gardens, ceramics, quilting and tapestry, and little painted illustrations of cheeky foxes.
"It was a delight to bring these elements into three charming pieces, scored for flute, cello and piano."
The result is a set of three pieces: The Strawberry Thief; The Secret Garden; and The Little Red Fox.
"The trio of musicians who recorded the work, David Shaw (flute), Edward Neeman (piano) and Samuel Payne (cello), have captured the moods beautifully," Sally said.
