Sheet Music: ScoreThe past is in the present as we look to the future : piano solo / Haydn Reeder.by Haydn Reeder (2013)

Product details
The opening richly harmonized melodic phrases were improvised at the piano. This music, intentionally chromatic, could have been written 150 years ago. This 'given idea' is returned to in various guises during the first half, and remnants are heard later. Although there are some intentional loose ends in the opening minutes, a device borrowed from a novelist, the rest of the piece is unplanned in respect of the various textures and dramatic outbursts which are pitted against the melodic ideas and which attain a life of their own.
