These five 'fantasy' pieces fall into a neo-romantic re-working of the fairy tale genre, made famous by composers such as Schumann and Medtner. Each piece alludes to well-known fantasy imagery, with the second and fourth pieces specifically inspired by tales by Washington Irving and C. S. Lewis respectively.
