Sheet Music: ScoreThree Pieces for Women's Voices, with Two Cellos / Christina Green.by Christina Green (2012)
|
Product details
These pieces were written during years in which I was an active choral singer, and in which I was inspired by the lives and writings of medieval (Christian) women mystics such as Hildegard of Bingen, Mechtild of Magdeburg and Julian of Norwich. In particular, the way of life of the Beguines, the Christian lay religious group that flourished in the 13th and 14th centuries in the Low Countries, and of which Mechtild was a part, was a source of inspiration to me at the time of writing these pieces. Musically I drew inspiration from the sound world of medieval music, which I studied at honours level in 1985.
