This single-movement Concertino was composed for the violinist Arianna Ricci, and has been performed many times by young violinists in concert, exams and auditions. With a modal harmonic language that has echoes of Bartók, Vaughan Williams and jazz, the work is based on the Fibonacci sequence and Golden section. It is ideal for HSC students, and detailed study notes are available on request.
