Instrumentation: Picclo, 2 flutes, 2 oboes, cor anglais, clarinet, clarinet in E flat, bass clarinet, 2 bassoons, contra-bassoon, descant recorders, 4 horns, 3 trumpets, 3 trombones, tuba, timpani, percussion (2 players), piano, harp, strings.

Duration: 24 min.

The work's five sections are based on five sections from the English metaphysical poet's prose masterpiece 'Centuries of Meditations'.
