Work Overview
Erosion: Sculptress of Grace was composed at the end of my third year of tertiary music studies at the University of Western Australia. Over that three year period of study the majority of my compositions had palindromic structures, and Erosion: Sculptress of Grace is no exception. Palindromes are structures that reflect upon a central axis. In other words, they are the same forwards and backwards. I started out working with palindromes because a lot of my lecturers at the time would describe many classical music forms as "symmetrical" and I wanted to debate whether that was really an apt description.
