Blues Sicilienne (2022) was written for the Victorian Flute Guild. The Guild had asked composers to submit pieces to be considered as set works for the Leslie Barklamb Competition.
This piece is for intermediate level students, of approximately grade 6 or 7 AMEB. My concept was to combine a blues tonality with the rhythms of a traditional Siciliana dance.
