Work Overview
As the sun passes over the earth, it caresses its surface quite gently at sunrise, then more strongly as the day grows. The warmth is continually passed into the earth's crust. Beneath this crust are the spirits that the ancient Greeks called the Titans.
A legend says that when Christ died and was buried in the earth for three days, he met the Titans, who were until then a mystery to spirits in the heavens. He was able to meet them and pass on knowledge about them to the upper gods.
The beautifully warm and earthy sound of the traditional Korean kayageum inspired this piece.
