Work Overview
This one-hour work is an appeal for equity and inclusivity. It confronts the pervasive apathy of our time-an emotion that defines much of the 21st century. The music wrestles with the frustration of our collective disconnection from the suffering of others, asking why empathy so often falters in the face of injustice. The deepest apathy I have witnessed has been toward refugees-people seeking nothing more than safety and belonging. Through this piece, I hope to awaken a sense of shared humanity and remind us that compassion is not a luxury, but a responsibility.
