Work Overview
A Jazz lyric suite composed for 3 jazz vocalists and jazz sextet, with libretto by Alana Valentine. A tragic tale about the Australian genius David Warren, inventor of the flight safety device, the ubiquitous Black Box, first referred to as a Flight Memory recorder. This 75 minute Jazz vocal work received its world premiere in 2019 at the Street Theatre, Canberra. It was directed by Caroline Stacey and featured Liam Budge, Leisa Keen and Michelle Nicolle.
