Work Overview
Miranda is an upbeat work about one of Uranus' 27 moons. With a 500km diameter, Miranda is one seventh as large as Earth's moon. Its surface features both lightly cratered ridges as well as heavily cratered terrain with canyons as deep as 20km. In this piece of music, a soft melody is paired with a rhythmically busy percussion section and bombastic interjections from the brass section.
