What We Cannot Say With Words : for string quartet / Emma Greenhill.
Library shelf no. 785.714/GRE 18 [Available for loan]
Work Overview
Music can often say so much more than language, so with this piece I have tried to capture emotions we can never truly convey with words. For this work, it is important that you attribute your own story and emotion to the music, so I won't describe in too much detail the emotions I was trying to capture while composing this piece. The first movement attempts to capture some hopefulness, but ultimately dissipates and leaves us worse off with a sense incompleteness, and the second is in dedication for the unimaginable suffering facing so many in the world.
