Doasyoulikes' song (quartets: alto, tenor, baritone, bass)

by Fred Hill (2003)

Work Overview

In his worldwide travels in Act IV of The Water Babies Tom arrives in the land of the Doasyoulikes, who live in a land so blessed with natural resources that they have no need to work or indeed to make the most basic provisions for themselves. Their quartet number (alto, tenor, baritone, bass) is in a basically barbershop style, with mock-baroque interludes played on harpsichord, which may also accompany the singers for rehearsal purposes. Each member of the quartet should work from the full score, so no separate parts are needed.
