Work Overview
Taking loose inspiration from Hildegard Von Bingen's Ave Generosa, this duet for Viola and Piano inhabits a similar modal language to that of the Medieval Benedictine abbess. Joy Gleams filters that language through a contemporary lens, reveling in the interplay between the viola and piano.
