The Skies of Honour : for concert band / Christopher Keane.
Library shelf no. 784.83/KEA 1 [Available for loan]
Work Overview
Commissioned by Adam Mason in 2006, the conductor and musical director of the Thornleigh West Public School Concert Band program.
The work requires a good sense of rhythm and pulse, as well as a balance between the instruments. However, the notes are not technically difficult.
This concert band had a full complement of players on each instrument and in particular, had strong clarinet and flute sections. The school program had junior bands that fed into the senior band that performed this work.
The name 'The Skies of Honour' was devised by a member of the clarinet section.
