Work

Fanfare for the Denmark Tour : for French horn, trumpet in B flat and trombone

by Mark Pollard (2014)

Work Overview

Fanfare for the Denmark tour was composed for the Melbourne Conservatorium Brass Ensemble. It includes elements of traditional Danish fanfare and dance. It is designed to be performed antiphonally to enhance the sense of space and place of a location. It is an important work to me as it reflects my connection to Denmark through my wife and her family and the unique mix of simplicity and innovation even present in this intriguingly beautiful place.
