The Angel of Hope, op. 105 : SATB and mini-bell ring chimes

by Jacqui Rutten (2020)

Work Overview

This song hopefully evokes a place in Ireland of earlier times, when the rain allowed the rivers to flow, thus powering the water-wheel, which powered the local pottery - Belleek Pottery. A different and more serene sound world which seems lost. The words are by a Master Painter of Belleek, who hopes an angel will guide him because he has lost a friend who wheeled his wheel-chair to work every morning. I composed the music with pen and paper, partly by a river.
