Work Overview
The first movement was inspired by the image of trees reflected in a lake. The reflected image is somewhat blurred like an impressionist painting. Its shape changes whichever way you look at it, especially if there are ripples in the water...
The second movement is dedicated to my late friend Morgan who tragically passed away far too young. It depicts the image of clouds reflected in the water. The work also incorporates a brief quotation of a favourite work of Morgan's, 'Rebel Heart', by the Corrs which we played together in a violin ensemble.
