Work Overview

The title came from an old sea chart that fell into my hands. There one read the water depths measured in fathoms around a coastline. Through a process of grid measurements I took both the longitude and latitude degrees in relation to the varying depths of water as a structural basis for the work. The musical material is based on a transformation of particular environmental sounds, something that very often occurs in my composition method.
