Taking Chances is the first movement from Hidden Thoughts: Do I Matter?, a festival work for vocal and instrumental sextets and the winner of the 2019 Paul Lowin Prize for Composition.
It is for a solo player (2 hi-hats + crotales) and is considered an aural 'palette cleanser'; fresh and short, shimmery, vibrant and energetic.
