Work Overview

My 2nd guitar concerto ( the 1st in G major from 2008 is scored for 2 vlns & bass)) is still scored for minimum chamber forces, making it accessable to smaller groups. The writing is traditional in the classical layout and is relatively contrained within the classical style. The 1st mvmt is the most freely structured, containing elements of earlier English 20c music (Bax Delius etc) with the addition of celtic influences. The middle mvt is essentially variations with an instrument riternello reflecting baroque style and the sinfonia concerantes of J.C.Bach. The finale is the most straightforword of the 3 and contains elements of Nyman, Abel and Weiss in its style mix
