Sketches for Piano : for solo piano / Ronan Apcar.
Library shelf no. 786.2/APC 5 [Available for loan]
Work Overview
These Sketches for Piano are a cycle of six short pieces I wrote for myself when I was 15/16 years old. They came about as a response to always being asked to play something whenever I ended up near a piano, but never knew what to play. I wrote the first piece, 'Waterfall,' so I had something short, virtuosic, and appealing - and soon followed the rest of these short pieces either evoking a character or image.
With each sketch about two to two and a half minutes, they can be performed as either a complete cycle, a mix-and-match combination to suit, or any of the sketches can stand on its own.
