Work Overview
Verti-GO! depicts the
feelings when suffering from vertigo.
Movt I and III contain fast rhythms, ostinato patterns and
constant changes of tempi as both instruments have a playful
'catch me if you can' feel.
A sense of calm occurs in the second movement, where a lyrical, song-like and atmospheric ambiance is created.
This work contains some contemporary playing techniques to showcase the unique tonal colours that both instruments can create: multiphonics, timbre trills and slap-tonguing.
No previous experience with extended techniques is required, as alternative playing options are provided in the score. All special fingerings are clearly displayed on the score. Suitable for HSC performance & Tertiary level. Movements may be performed separately.
