Score SampleView a sample of the score of this work
This work is of advanced difficulty and tests the technique and musical flexibility of the performers. It is in three movements and has a wide range of moods and nuances. The Quartet could be considered a "crossover" work - while it contains aspects of jazz, minimalist, modernist, and avant garde styles, it is in fact none of these things in total, but rather a musical discourse that unfolds with it's own musical impetus and sense of logic.
Instrumentation: 4 saxophones: soprano, alto, tenor, baritone.
Duration: 12 min.
Difficulty: Advanced — Suitable for advanced tertiary or professional performers
The work is in three movements. In addition to the PARTS for each instrument, there is a REHEARSAL SCORE that is very helpful when learning the work. Also, there is a CONCERT PITCH SCORE for study and reference purposes.
