Commission note: Commissioned by Melbourne Symphony Orchestra.. Written as the 2009 Composer in Residence for the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra.

First performance: by Melbourne Symphony Orchestra, Keith Lockhart, James Morrison at Melbourne Symphony Orchestra (Costa Hall) on 4 Sep 2009

Revised in 2013, with the original five movements reduced to four, and the order of the movements changed.
