Work Overview

The Boomerang Chocolate Cake was composed for and performed by Elizabeth (Beth) Wells and Robert Goode. Other musicians who have performed this song in the ensuing years include Marilyn Richardson and Ann's good friends in Canberra, Louise Page and Phillipa Candy.
The words are from a cake recipe and the idea came about as Rob has always inspired all around him with his creative cooking - so when I found a recipe with such an imaginative Australian name, I felt it imperative to set the words to music. Unfortunately I forgot to put in the flour - but then, that makes the cake all the more accessible for all and sundry. Likewise, performers may also wish to put their own stamp on the score when performing this piece and do some innovative musical cooking of their own.
