Work Overview
Madeline Young was one of Australia's leading jazz guitarists whose life ended tragically; another victim of manic depression. At 25 she was already established with her own trio playing Sydney's pub and club circuit and had played alongside artists such as James Morrison and Don Burrows. She was well known to the composer especially in her early years when she was still studying the classical guitar at the Sydney Conservatorium. I have fond memories of jamming with her and being really touched by her great passion for music.
