Work
Spiritus Sanctus Australis : for SATB choir and bass drum
by Judith Clingan (2002, this version: 2001)
Work Overview
Spiritus Sanctus Australis was originally written for SATB choir, wind quartet and mezzo solo, as a part of Resonances, a set of four choral pieces written to be heard in wonderfully resonant acoustics. The work received its premiere performance in the newly-opened great hall of Parliament House in 2002. Over the twelve years since then choirs have successfully performed it as an unaccompanied choral piece - which is how I now prefer it!
