This work is based on the poem 'Christmas Carols' by English poet Patricia Beer and explores a darker side to Christmas rituals and traditions. Through both complimentary and unusual settings of the words of the poem, the work asks the question, "peace on earth? Really?" before providing its own answer to that question through the healing power of music.
