Work Overview
Monologue for solo oboe was written for Jeffrey Crellin, principal oboist of the Melbourne Symphony, who gave the first performance in 1997. Subsequent performances include a recording for ABC FM radio by Rainer Gibbons.
In June 2000 the composer undertook a substantial revision of the work, and this revised version was premiered by Jeffrey Crellin in 2000.
