Instrumentation: 4 flutes (1-3 doubling piccolo, 4th doubling alto flute), 3 oboes (3rd doubling cor anglais), 4 clarinets (2nd doubling E flat clarinet, 3rd and 4th doubling bass clarinet), 3 bassoons (3rd doubling contra-bassoon), 6 horns, 4 trumpets, 2 tenor trombones, bass trombone, tuba, timpani, percussion (4 players), harp, piano (doubling celesta), strings (16.14.12.10.8).
