I am the previous Director of Music of the Air Force Band in Sydney. This work by Houston Dunleavy was one of nine works entered in a joint commission/ competition in 1996 by the Royal Australian Air Force Air Command Band, ABC Classic FM and the AMC. Its world premiere performance was under me with this band and it was awarded third prize.
The first prize went to Geg Butcher's Exile http://www.australianmusiccentre.com.au/workversion/butcher-greg-exile/10367
The second prize was awarded to Russell Gilmour's Millenium Crossing
