Every Euphovian I have met thinks that the Euphonium is the greatest thing invented since Theme and Variations!
One player was deluded enough to think that the Euphonium was so great it would attract the opposite sex!!
Maybe Maximus just refers to this work being the greatest ever written for this warbling wonder, this King of the counter melody - The Euphonium!
