In a room with Rachmaninoff : for piano / Jane Hammond.
Library shelf no. 786.2/HAM 1 [Not for loan]
Work Overview
Many of Rachmaninoff's compositions were conceived and developed at Ivanovka, an isolated Russian country estate in the Tambov region about 600 kilometres south east of Moscow. He first went there in the summer of 1890 returning every year until he left Russia in 1917. He found inspiration and creative ease in the beautiful and peaceful surroundings. A number of works that he composed in those years are referenced in my own composition.
